When God says move…

MOVE!!!!!

Psalm 18:3

You gave a wide place for my steps under me, and my feet did not slip.

I know I’ve been MIA for a while, and I must apologize, but God has opened some doors for me and my family. He hasn’t closed the door to the blogging world but I’ve been falling behind for sure!!!! Lets see, in the last 2 weeks I’ve picked up a new business, became a youth leader, and been dealing with many a dramatic and crazy family moment!

Revelation 3:8

“‘I know your works. Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut. I know that you have but little power, and yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.

I’ve been trying to find a way to make money from home for ages, and I’ve passed by, or let opportunities pass ME by many times because they “weren’t for me”. Well this time, God said MOVE!!!! I started with the company originally, not to sell or make money, but to use the product to better my health. The results (within 2 days!!!) were immeasurable!!! So I knew right then, that I could help others by selling and giving it out to them! I prayed that God takes this business and multiplies it so that I can use the money I make and the product I earn to help others and be a blessing.

Malachi 3:10

Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.

Luke 6:38

Give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you.”

so I’ve been in said business for about 2 weeks and already I am soaring!!!! God is amazing, wonderful and faithful, and if you are obedient to him, he WILL give you your hearts desires.

Psalm 37:4

4 Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Are you a sheep or a Goat?

Are we saved through works? NO! We are saved by grace so that NONE may boast!!! Does that mean that once we are saved we just get a free ride through life? HECK NO!!!! Ponder this story from the bible:

Matthew 25:31-46

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

This wont be a very long post because this parable says it all!!!!! Would you rather be a sheep or a goat? I know what I would want to be….. Remember, even the smallest act of kindness makes you exalted in Gods eyes. The more you do for the least of these, the more you do for him. He also sees your heart though… so do not give for selfish gain, or hold back because you would rather keep your money for the finer things….. God knows what, when, and why you do what you do,….

When I stand before the lord at the gates of heaven, I hope that he will say “well done”.

John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

God says to love one another as he loved us. He loved us by sacrificing his only son! What are YOU holding back that is TOO important to give to God? What are you keeping from him? He keeps nothing from those who love him, so how are we to love him if we are not willing to give up EVERYTHING for him, and everyone else on this earth.

Remember, in the great scheme of things, this life holds NOTHING for us of great value…. this society worships paper money and contracts more than it does the everlasting God who created each and every one of us. So just think about that….. What are you holding back? Why wait any longer? Is it worth it?

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

Many talents

There is something wonderful I have noticed, as did everyone else at some point I’m sure, about the body of Christ! Whether it be in romantic relationships, friendships, or a collective group of fellow worshipers, everyone has something profoundly DIFFERENT to contribute!
Our God amazes me. First he creates us all physically different and unique, even being a twin is very unique in and of its self, then he goes and creates our emotions, our talents, and our passions; things we loved before we even knew we could.
My church, for example, is a huge collection with people of all shapes, sizes, and talents! We have singers, dancers, teachers, writers, bankers, you name it, we probably have someone with the talent!!!! It isn’t just MY church either! I have been to many churches and I have found the same thing to be true for the majority. I love how undivided the TRUE body of Christ really is. Not only are there so many of us that though we are united as a whole we need to be split up per area because there is too many people. God has arranged this with his people. He has put people of different talents and ideals in each and every church.
God has even done this in marriages! My marriage is a wonderful example of this! My husband and I are polar opposites in almost every way possible. Hes a introvert, I am an extrovert. He loves computers, phones and technology, I love music, the arts, reading, cooking, gardening and writing. Im right brained, hes left. He says up, I say down! Its always like that, and always has been like that. Now, it took a lot of getting used to at first, because when you have such different people living with each other if takes work, but we have a rhythm going now!!! I know now that God has placed me and Branden together for a very specific reason! Balance! If there’s something he cant do very well, I usually can, and vice-versa! We also rub off on each other and mellow each other out in areas that were extreme. I love seeing the perfect design in this. God has planned all of this out and it makes me love him even more. Even through Branden, I received a wonderful family of all different talents! We often need to use our brothers mechanic skills, our mom is crafty and creative, my sister in law and wonderful friend is an outspoken and multi-talented mom of 3 and she blows me away with the way she holds it all together.
See where I’m going with this?

1 Peter 4:10-11

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Romans 12:6-8

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

It all just goes to show that God is always working to make things come together as a whole. He wants us to be happy, and he wants us to be productive. What better way to accomplish both than to give us a purpose to do something we love!!!

My prayer for you today is that you will be happy with who you are and embrace your unique and wonderful talents for what they are. I pray that you will use your gifts to the glory of God always, and that nothing will be held back. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Colossians 3:23-25 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

A warriors tale: Fighting fear

This week has been a very difficult week to be me. I cant say that there is anything out of the ordinary physically that I am fighting this week, I will say that it is all in my head. Something I have struggled with since the night I was saved is my ability to get very easily rattled by things. They can be small, and they can be big, but my reaction goes way beyond the normal! I am a woman! What do you expect?

Well I expect better. As a christian, though I am also human and bound to make mistakes. I am called to make my mistakes and learn from them as to not make them again.

Fear is an emotion that is beyond difficult to control. I have come to a place now where I have been getting much better at giving my thoughts and pains to God. My fears are often silly so giving them to God was a lot easier. Now, however, I have been dealing with fears much greater than those I have grown accustomed to. I am fighting that emotion and how I act with everything I got. It just seems to get worse and worse.

Well today I received the obvious answer… or better yet “question”…. WHY?! WHY DO YOU FEAR?!

It was resounding, it was powerful, and it was strong. I was on the way home from a heart to heart talk with my sister about this very thing, and it didn’t hit me until I was halfway home and my toddler was screaming bloody murder in the back seat. My heart began to weep, and then my face eventually did too….

Then I remembered in full clarity a verse(s) that my grandmother drilled into me as a young child:

Psalm 91

91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High
Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress;
My God, in Him I will trust.”

3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a]
And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers,
And under His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
Nor of the arrow that flies by day,
Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness,
Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

7 A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes shall you look,
And see the reward of the wicked.

9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge,
Even the Most High, your dwelling place,
10 No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
11 For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways.
12 In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra,
The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.

14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him;
I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him;
will be with him in trouble;
I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him,
And show him My salvation.”

I cannot explain how strong, in that very moment, the holy spirit shook in me. I couldn’t stop crying, my heart was finally filled with peace that transcended all understanding…. and I was free. I won the battle when I stopped trying to fight, and I handed my helmet to the lord. He took up my sword and landed the final blow on my fear.

I was free.

This is why I needed God, I needed his word, and his peace. I would have made myself crazy, paranoid, and anxious. I was in too deep in my head and It just wouldnt stop. Though I had read my verses, I had prayed my prayers, I hadnt really given my fear to him. I did not trust him, I just was afraid. Its ok that I was afraid, but when it weakens my faith, there is a major problem. I was disappointed and weeping in that moment because I was letting my strong faith come tumbling down before then.

Thank you lord for picking up the pieces. That was a reminder that I am never strong enough to do it on my own, even when I think I got it all figured out. Without you I would be living in fear and hopelessness in this world of sin and doubt. I pray that you will give the same peace to those that read this who are worries, scared, or anxious about anything. I ask because you CAN lord, and I cannot!!!! I love you lord, in Jesus’s almighty name, AMEN.

John 16:33

I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”

Now for the children

How does your child see you and your life. Can you look back over the past year or so and say you have been doing everything you can to make sure that they are raised right? Will they be kind to others, listen to correction, not act up in public, or bully other kids?

A better question to ask is; can you look back over the past year of so and say that YOU have been living and acting exactly how you want them to act?

There is a song that I love that starts out with a popular christian childs song: Be careful little feet where you go, be careful little feet where you go, for the father up above is looking down with love oh be careful little feet where you go.

Then they sing; Be careful little eyes what you see
It’s the second glance that ties your hands as darkness pulls the strings
Be careful little feet where you go
For it’s the little feet behind you that are sure to follow

Ive never heard a truer tale. I cant even fit all of the times my mother or other parents have done things that she or they would never in a million years think that I would do simply because they did it, even unknowingly in front of children. Your every word, your every move makes a huge impact on those little eyes, ears, and mouths… They look up to adults as if we were kings and queens. They look at us as if we could do no wrong for a long time in the beginning of their years. If they see it from us, be rest assured that they will do it themselves.

Here are a couple of scenarios: (1) a child watches his father yell at his mom day after day for the first several years of his life. He may even see him hit her. There is  alcohol and drugs around, the music swears, the dad and mom swear. The little one grows up and goes to school. One day the parents get a call from the teacher that the child is yelling, swearing, and hitting his classmates and is out of control. “where did he learn that from?!” the parents will wonder.

The second scenario: (2) A child grows up watching his parents praying with him, singing worship songs on a daily basis, reading bible stories, going to church, and watching his parents show love and kindness to strangers, and even enemies. The parents look to God in every situation. What happens? no phone call from school, unless somehow in some way, he was the victim of that bully.

I will add one additional scenario, that could be possible if there were enough children from the second scenario in today’s world: The child raised in a godly household is still kind and loving to the child that bullied him. He still just wants to be his friend. Eventually, and yes it may cause some heart ache in the christian child, but it will be well worth it in the future. Why? Because that child planted a seed of kindness in a child’s heart that knows nothing of kindness.

What child do you want yours to be?

Yes I am aware that not every scenario is just like this, but I have a bit of experience under my belt on this one from my own childhood. Though my parents weren’t the best examples, my grandparents were. They taught me love and kindness and how Jesus even loved those who persecuted him. I was bullied so bad in school that I had to switch schools 3 times. I was afraid to go to recess most of my childhood. I was still always the girl to give my bullies a pencil when the teacher called them out for not having one, giving half my sandwich to the bully that had nothing.

Here is where the patience, and the waiting comes in. Through the awesome networking of Facebook, later on in my years, I began getting friend requests from said bullies. Some of them ended up saved. Saved by grace, repentant for the things they had done, and kind and loving from then on. Some of them were living lives that destroyed them. The total end result? they were still thinking about me. Not because I’m special or anything, but because of the kindness I showed them even when I was being kicked in the dirt every day by those same people.

Your child will be who you allow them to be, through influence, association, and prayer. Don’t let your children down. God would never do that to you if you looked up to him the way they do at you.

Proverbs 22:6

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

Ephesians 6:4

Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.

Proverbs 29:15

The rod and reproof give wisdom, but a child left to himself brings shame to his mother.

Proverbs 23:13

Do not withhold discipline from a child; if you strike him with a rod, he will not die.

Deuteronomy 6:7

You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise.

Colossians 3:21

Fathers, do not provoke your children, lest they become discouraged.

Proverbs 13:24

Whoever spares the rod hates his son, but he who loves him is diligent to discipline him.

Proverbs 29:17

Discipline your son, and he will give you rest; he will give delight to your heart.

The Great Paradigm Shift: Surrender to self

I was in church today, and my pastor made some points that were too BIG to ignore.

There is deception in the church, as I have stated before, but not only in other churches, even in the very BODY OF CHRIST! There are so many of what I would call “Sunday” Christians, or “lukewarm” believers. The type that were saved at one point, or maybe even raised in the church that go to church on Sundays, listen halfheartedly to the message, and walk away and return to the world and all of its sin.
My favorite quote from todays’ message was “Idolatry is running rampant in the church today, idolatry of SELF”. Then he mentioned Copernicus! I remember learning about Copernicus in school, the lone man who challenged the entire worlds belief that everything in the universe revolved around US, or earth. Today, with all of our technology, we know that what he was telling those people was correct! The sun was the center of the galaxy and we were just one of many planets in orbit around IT.

Think of our lives in that way. Everything revolves around us in our minds, and it always will, unless a ‘Copernicus’ of some sort wakes us up to the fact that everything does, and SHOULD revolve around the ‘sun’, or GOD!!! Unless you have a paradigm shift of your own, and you are able to remove ‘self’ from the equation, you cannot serve GOD. He is the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end. This life is not about us. We live for ourselves today, in everything we do. Well what would happen if we stopped living for ourselves and we put all of that energy into living JUST for God?

James 4:10

Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will exalt you.

HE WILL EXALT YOU!!!! If it is about the Lord, he will EXALT YOU!!! Now, I don’t know about you, but once I laid down everything for the lord, I surrendered totally to God and gave up the world for him. BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE. I will not go back. Why? Because I am exalted in him, I am happy, and peaceful, and I can see things clearer than before. I made HIM my idol, I made HIM my one and only lord and Christ as my savior. My life is no longer about me, and I love it that way.

Being a christian may seem like it sucks. If you think that is the case then you are not doing it right!!! Doing Gods will is rewarding, it is wonderful and perfect. Life cannot get BETTER than the way it is when you are following him alone and without the “world” holding you back from him.

So what are you waiting for, why are you still conformed to the world Christians!!??  GIVE YOURSELVES UP!!! You will finally understand what PEACE feels like. We cannot do it without him. When we live in a world where everything we have  is of our own making (or so we think) we cannot come to appreciate or receive the fullness of what the lord has to offer!!!

John 15:1-7“I am the true vine, and my Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in me that does not bear fruit he takes away, and every branch that does bear fruit he prunes, that it may bear more fruit. Already you are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit by itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. …

So don’t wait any longer, surrender yourself now! Our God loves you, and will do GREAT things with and for you if you only open the door and let him work!

I pray wholeheartedly that every single person who reads this will see the truth in this message and that you will give yourself up to experience the fullness of the love of GOD!! In Christ Jesus, I pray for you all. Amen.

Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Why should we trust God?

There have been times in my life that “trusting” just wasn’t an option at all. There have also been times, preceding the lack of trust, where I trusted in everything and wore my heart on my sleeve.

Well when life happens and you get burned, that trust disappears and you are left with a plethora of painful disappointments and bad memories along with the good. Despite the good, it is often the bad experiences that stick with us the most, and naturally, as we don’t want to endure them again. So whether it be men, women, parents, friends, or our idea of “God” we get disappointed, and we ‘learn’ from that moment or moments of pain.

So if that is what we do, then why should we put our trust in a ‘God’ who allows us to be burned time and time again? I can go on for days about the times I have been cut down, burned, and disappointed. I’ve been abused, neglected, and even hated for no reason whatsoever. So why should I trust in a ‘lord’ that allowed these things to happen to me even as a little innocent child?

Well let me begin with this: Our parents, well most of them, raise us and then we fly the coop at whatever age is deemed appropriate. We will do things that our parents could have stopped, or things happen to us that they could have prevented,, but then what would we be today if they had intervened?

lets look at todays children shall we? I dont know about you, but there are so many children who are OUT of control, child bullying is a HUGE problem, and there seems to be a general lack of conscience in and around our schools. preteens are having sex, groups of teenagers are raping children, I know I’m not the only one who has seen the news lately. This is what happens when you are raised without an idea of consequences. We were made to learn from experience.

So basically, if you are wondering why you had to endure what you did, It was to become the person you are today, and hopefully, you are not a bully, a rapist, or a murderer. You had to learn from your mistakes and get to the end of your rope so that we cry out to God. We can trust him, and he WANTS us to ask for his help, to give it all to him because we just cant do it alone!!!! So basically, God gave us free will, life happens, and it is all in how we deal with it that makes the difference.

Matthew 11:28-30

Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

Psalm 55:22

Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.

Galatians 6:2

Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Now as to why children are beaten, abused, and hurt…. the answer to that is simple. More and more people are going against God. God is a horrible word in this country if its not being used as a swear word. We’ve pulled him out of our songs, out of our laws, out of our schools, and our conversation even. You cannot say anything about God without OFFENDING someone!!! So WHY?! WHY should God intervene in a world this depraved? God knows what these children have for them, and if they die before their time? They will be in Gods hands, watching over the world. They didn’t get the chance to deny God as their parents and country have. God will help those who call out for him to take over their lives, not for people who call out for a ‘God’ that may exist and if he does, ‘Ill owe you a favor’.

Moving on to my final point: TRUST IN THE LORD

WITH ALL OF YOUR HEART

ALL OF YOUR SOUL

ALL OF YOUR MIND

GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM

LAY IT WILLFULLY INTO HIS HANDS

TRUST IN CHRIST JESUS AND HIS SACRIFICE

You will be saved, and you will feel a peace unlike any other feeling ever experienced.

God will show you the way, and though you may get burned again, you will never be the same. Your burden will be light, and God will have the best possible outcome for every single situation. Don’t lose hope, don’t lose faith, he will provide for you, and in the end, you WILL be happy. Don’t doubt my words, because you cannot see the future. Neither can I but GOD can, and I promise you, that he has the best in mind for his children. Allow yourself to be put in his arms and do not let GO.

I trust the one and only true word, that of our God. In Jesus name, amen.
