God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity: Romans 1:18-32

I may offend you, but I love you none the less. We are to be honest with eachother as brothers and sisters in christ so bear with me as I break down a very very important chapter in Romans.

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

• Everyone around us, in and out of the church have been supressing truth by wickedness. It is all around! We have been manipulating the bible and its words to mean what we want it to mean, to help us believe what we want to believe and feel good about it. Those who do not call themselves christians, and even some who do will excuse foolishness and impurity by telling us not to judge them, by saying it is none of our buisness. ITS MY LIFE is the worst excuse I have ever seen. I know people personally who have every reason to love, adore, and believe in God, yet they slander him, disobey him, live their lives in sin and glorify it at every turn. Some do this and all the while they call themselves christians. God knows our hearts and he knows what we have put before him. He knows the things we think and the things we say in our drunkenness late into the night.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

• I know those who loved God before, they had every reason to. He had shown his love to them numerous times, saving them, answering their prayers, and keeping them from harm. When push came to shove, he received no glory, no love, no offering. When they were all caught up in life and the happiness they had, they slowly began to believe that this life was theirs, that they accomplished all of it through works, in and of themselves. I was like this once before too. Then they begin to shift focus, and though it may not seem like people today are making graven images, is following a celebrities every move instead of following Gods word not “making graven images”? We have more pictures of ourselves and our children in our homes than we have memorized verses of Gods word. We read “”in touch weekly” and follow our favorite TV series and know it better than we do the next fulfilled prophecy that we were told by GOD himself to watch for. We have thanked our superiors at work, the people who distribute processed food, and our waitresses at the restaurant more than we have thanked our lord and savior, and when “we” do, it is usually a mockery!

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

• Am I wrong when I say sex is GLORIFIED in today’s world? You cannot walk through a school yard without seeing at least one YOUNG girl dressed up in the least modest clothes available. Children, yes CHILDREN, like 9-12 are having as much sex as adults. At every mall and on almost every billboard we have engraved images of half naked women and shirtless men for sex appeal. Sex appeal has been everything in this nation. It has made young girls ashamed of who they are and what they look like, it has created a false understanding for boys on how to see women! I would even go as far to say that it has a lot to do with the increased rate of rape and sexual assault in this country and others. Sick people will always do sick things, but those sick things are being made “common place” and even accepted in some places.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

• Threesomes, orgies, having sex with men and women alike, sodomy, open marriages, are these things not accepted? Now here is the most controversial of them all in today world: Homosexuality! Now I am personally close with many homosexual men. Some who no longer allow themselves to live in sin and giving their lives and bodies to God instead. Now I am not here to argue whether or not people who are Gay can help it, I am here to say that men who commit shameful acts with other men have indeed received in themselves penalty for their error. It is inside them, it is a fight, a battle unlike anything a person who is not tempted in that way can understand. I understand this as the reason that a mans life cannot be a normal one if he is born feeling that attraction. I know that it is in their hearts, and God will deal with what is there. However, the bible states clearly that the ACT of having sexual relations with someone of the same sex is against his law, so again, that is between them and God, I will not persecute, but I will not condone.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

• Furthermore, they all no longer feel guilt for what they are doing. The guilt is gone because they have pushed the holy spirit so far away in their sin that they are beyond his whispers. There is still hope, but only when they repent and allow the holy spirit to move in themselves once more. Look at the verse above, and tell me you do not know at least ONE person who lives in sin in these ways? It is all around us! We are close to the end and their stubbornness will be their poison. I urge you, no BEG YOU all who read this to repent, to lead others to God and to repentance, if you love them, and you should, you need to help save them. We are given too much power in Christ for us to waste it by keeping it to ourselves. What are we if not VESSELS of the living God? How are we doing anything for God if we live in shame for being who we are? We are not to shy away from this immorality as if it has over taken the world and there is no help against it… we are to FIGHT it with everything we have!!!! Don’t let go, turn the word of God lose and shamelessly help bring these lost sheep back to God. We are in a day and age where this sin has become so common place that our children will not know better. It is up to us to change that. Don’t give up, don’t quit trying because I love every one of you, and every one of them and I will not stop until I have helped put as many names in the lambs book of life as I can. I will not wait around and let persecution and hatred stop me. Satan has no hold on me and I will pray intensely that if he has a hold on you that it will be broken in JESUS NAME!!! I might not know you, but I love you. I may not see your heart, but I know that I want it to belong to God. Only with your heart where it needs to be can you feel the full pull and strength of Gods love, mercy, and kindness.

 

 

There is hope, a hope only made possible by Jesus Christ who was sent by our living GOD to save our souls from the pain of eternal damnation. GOD WOULD NOT SEE ONE, ONE!!! OF US DIE!!!! It is we who do that to ourselves. He has given us hope after hope, chance after chance, and he HAS revealed himself, and will again. Do not fool yourselves, do yourselves a favor and fall into his arms now, don’t fight it any longer. He loves us, and is storing up our treasures in heaven for the good we do in his name as we speak. What do you have to lose if you choose to follow God is not the question, its what do you Gain if you follow God, and what you lose if you continue to live in sin and not to speak out to those around you who are living in sin. its very simple, what you need to do is pick up your bible, pick up your heart and get on your knees. Repent of your sin and turn from that path. Ask for Jesus to come into your heart and soul and cleanse you from yourself. “Self” is the holy spirits enemy. You cannot love God and live for “self”.  I urge you to eliminate your selfish desires, your worldly understanding, and follow him, love him, trust him, and ALL ELSE will fall into place. you will live a life of meaning and happiness unlike anything you have ever experienced. I promise you, Just let. GO.

 

 

My prayer for you today is that you will be able to let go, to give your all and all to christ. he is the way, the truth and the light and your only way into heaven. I pray you will run from sin and the hold it has on you, I pray for those around you, that they may see your changed soul and they may follow suit and join you in heaven as well. I pray that this message will not pass you by, that it will consume your thoughts so when you see these things you will know to fight them, to run from temptation and fight for all that is GOOD! I pray that this country will repent and abandon its sin and doubt and allow God to return this country to its former glory. I pray you will live out your life with the peace and love of Jesus Christ coursing through you; making you feel the love I want you all to feel and understand. In Jesus mighty name, AMEN.

Again, I love you. I do not condemn you, I LOVE YOU. Just as JESUS LOVES YOU AND GAVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU!!! Never forget that.

When your heart says yes and your head says no!

Ever have one of those moments? I definitely have!!!!

I have had a very difficult time trying to figure out whether or not I should do certain things, even when it comes to stuff as simple as what to listen to on the radio or what I watch on TV. I have found that even those small simple things actually do have an impact on me. Maybe a violent show doesn’t make me want to go out and kill people, but it DOES affect me. Here is how: It takes my focus from God.

So when you are doing something or wanting to do something, do you ask yourself if you are putting that thing or person over God?

Lets say that what I’m talking about is a relationship with a new friend. The person was really cool when you were hanging out a week ago, but as you get to know them, you not only get a bit more attached, but you start to see them for who they are and what they like! you are a home maker and you like to stay home and do what you do to the Glory of God. Then you meet a person who is single, really cool, is out doing fun things all the time and living it up!!!! Slowly you start to wish you could be that “free”. YOU want to go to bars and stay up until 2 again. You want to flirt, and drink, and feel like you are sexy again. That is your heart. I mean, its only natural right? You are still young and you deserve a night out.

Matthew 15:19

For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.

Well I can tell you right now, and from experience, how that is going to turn out. Slowly you will begin to lose your focus on God. You will go out one night, get intoxicated, you may or may not do a few things you regret later, but you will have a blast!!!! Next thing you know you find yourself going out every week. Slowly the life style of the care free and single is starting to creep into your mindset. You will like what you have going and it may or may not start to wedge itself in your relationship with your husband and kids. I do know that it will, 100% undoubtedly wedge itself in between you and God.

While you are doing all of this, are you thinking about what God has planned for you? are you praying? Are you turning to him with your every problem, desire, and happy thought? No, you are having too much fun grinding on strangers and drinking with your buddies. No, I’m not saying that going out for drinks with a friend every once and a while is a bad thing, but constantly being in the influence of someone and something that is living in sin IS. I say “you” assuredly, because it was actually ME!!! You cant go on a diet and purposefully intoxicate yourself and sit down in front of a bunch of different flavored cupcakes and not expect to be tempted!!!! It just isn’t possible!!! I found that out the hard way! Don’t make the same mistakes I did, I plead with you all! Most people have great self control, but there is always the chance, and the temptation and God teaches us to flee from temptation! Not purposefully put ourselves in its path!

Sin breeds sin, negativity breeds negativity, hate breeds hate, gossip breeds gossip, and rot breeds more rot.

If you put an onion next to a potato, they will both rot.

OK, enough with the food and breeding examples, here’s some biblical ones!!!

1 Corinthians 15:33

Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Psalm 1:1

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers;

Proverbs 13:20

Whoever walks with the wise becomes wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.

Proverbs 6:27

Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned?

Matthew 5:13-16

“You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how shall its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and trampled under people’s feet. “You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a stand, and it gives light to all in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.

1 Corinthians 5:11

But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

Well that was just about the COMPANY WE KEEP!!!!!!

Now I’m going to get into the things that we (Human kind) do!!!!

As I mentioned at the beginning, lets just say you are listening to music. Some popular songs today are done by Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, lil Wayne, Tool, I could go on and on in almost every Genre and still never cover all of the artists today. Well, I used to LOVE popular music, I would listen to it, download albums, watch very very Violent shows that had a cool song on it and I would go to hell and back (no pun intended) trying to find out who it was from! I found that I am not honoring God in any way doing that. One day I realized that all of this music was GLORIFYING things that, sure I may never actually do, but by listening to it, I was supporting it. Portraying that it was OK to call myself a follower of Christ and listen to a song that had profanity in every other word or degraded women and men alike. Some songs and artists even go as far as to blaspheme our creator. Not to mention the subliminal effect it had on my psyche! It was all just temptation!!! Once I was saved it was a struggle for me to give up these earthly things, but in the end, it was worth it. I cannot devote my life to our God if I am dishonoring him in the little things like music, TV, video games, and even pornography and sex!!!! Here are some verses that helped me get through the separation from the world I was going through:

1 Corinthians 10:31

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

Romans 12:2 

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

Philippians 4:8

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

Ephesians 5:10

And try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord.

2 Corinthians 6:17

Therefore go out from their midst, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch no unclean thing; then I will welcome you,

Ephesians 5:19

Addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with your heart,

Ephesians 5:1-33

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. …

So the entire point of this post is basically to follow, and glorify God in ALL that you do, from the music you listen to, to the words you speak, to the places you go. People: Christians, and atheists alike are all watching you, and waiting for you to slip up. Satan is too!!! Don’t give them the satisfaction. If you do slip up, get back on track, because If you give God your all, he will make things easier!!!! Trust me, I used music as an example, and Going out with friends as an example, because as I am human, those were huge weaknesses for me! It can be done, and your life can be more rewarding and peaceful if everything that is done, is done for the lord. When you listen to christian music, your focus is on God. When you hang out with fellow Christians, your focus is God. When you watch sermons and other wholesome TV your focus is on GOD!!!! See where I’m going with this?

One last note, do not judge and condemn others for this, as many do not live by God and it is not our place to see their hearts. Just I am not judging you, but telling you all by experience what I have been through and how much better off I am now. If they are living in sin and claim to be Christians, correct them kindly, and not in judgement. If they fail to correct themselves, then do not continue to be angry and judgmental, but simply distance yourself from them and the sin. It sounds harsh but you do not need a bad influence. Love them, and do not think of them as bad people and quarrel with them over right and wrong, Just avoid the influence of sin that has taken over their lives. Of course do not forget to pray for them, that God will show them the error of their ways. Just because their faith is weak does not mean they are hopeless. Be there for them, and be kind. It is not our job to change others, but to encourage them, and allow the LORD to do his work in them. Even when you know that what they do is wrong!!!!

Romans 14:1-23

As for the one who is weak in faith, welcome him, but not to quarrel over opinions. One person believes he may eat anything, while the weak person eats only vegetables. Let not the one who eats despise the one who abstains, and let not the one who abstains pass judgment on the one who eats, for God has welcomed him. Who are you to pass judgment on the servant of another? It is before his own master that he stands or falls. And he will be upheld, for the Lord is able to make him stand. One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be fully convinced in his own mind. …
