Consolation for the busy!

Today I am very very busy!!! I have a Halloween party I am throwing for my kid and my niece and nephews to decorate, bake, and clean for. Then I have to throw together my shopping list for tomorrow, get lunch and dinner ready for my son and husband, then I have to make sure to check on my garden a few times. There is more but bottom line… I hardly even have time to post this…. but when it comes to God, you cant forget to make time!!!!! So here are some verses to get us all through the day on a busy one like today!!! To make sure you make time for God, just turn on an audio bible as you clean or eat. Say a prayer every chance you get! Turn on your local christian music station and sing his praises! Also, check out these verses! I love them!!! Love and blessings to you all!!! Have a great, safe, and fun, and not too spooky Halloween!!!!

I pray you will all make time daily for the lord and I pray that I too will never forget to spend time with him daily. I pray that we will see the fruits of our labor and the work of our hands be brought to reaping fully  what the lord has for us if we do it all in his name. In Jesus name AMEN!!!!

Love that has no bounds

Have you ever felt a love like that? Completely unconditional, nothing you would or wouldn’t do for someone or something. Nothing in the world could change how you feel?

Generally a love like that is known to be between a mother and her children. As a mother myself I have felt that bond with my child. It is as if he WAS my heart. It seems like no love can compare…. but the love of God is much greater. God loves me more than anyone can comprehend. He loves you just as much. God CREATED love. When you feel it, you know!!!! For what greater love is this, than to give his only BORN SON to save us all from eternal damnation, and all we have to do is LOVE God in return, and have faith in his son Jesus Christ as our savior!!!! That really is it! Even if we don’t take it upon ourselves to be saved by the holy ghost, he still loves you… but to him, you are like the wayward child who wont listen to you or follow your rules. The only thing that has yet to be said, is if YOU love HIM back!!!! When you love God, you gotta love Jesus, and if you love Jesus:

John 14:23-24

23 Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them. 24 Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching. These words you hear are not my own; they belong to the Father who sent me.

It is whether or not YOU choose to love God, and have faith in him and Jesus Christ as our savior. So many times do I hear “well if your God is so loving and great, why would it matter if we believe in him or not? Doesn’t he love us?”

2 Peter 3:9

9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

God does not want us to perish, he wants us to LOVE HIM with NO BOUNDARIES OR EXCEPTIONS. He wants us to obey him and make ready for the day that we will die and go home to be with him. It is man kinds free will that allows us to choose, and it is our STUBBORNNESS that will keep us from inheriting the kingdom of heaven. The lord is waiting on us.

We tend to have this perception of time and understanding of the world we live in. Everything is too soon, or too late. Too hot or too cold. Black or white, night or day. Good things happen to bad people, bad things happen to good people. What we don’t understand is that WE created these extremes. We have made “deadlines” common place, and WE are the ones who allow crooks to walk scot free, and children to be abused and hurt. We have as much power to protect people from those things. Maybe not GODS power, but why would God unveil his great power to a whole group of people who do not believe in him, or care for him.

Think about the story of the plagues of Egypt back in exodus. God exposed himself. He performed miracles of insane power that had every person in Egypt standing in awe of the Hebrew GOD. Even the Egyptians loaded their gold, jewels, and animals onto the carts of the Hebrews as they left!!! You would think that his people would have remained loyal! They did, for a short time. They wandered into the wilderness, and soon their faith grew weak again. They were then yelling at Moses and God and complaining that they would be better off in Egypt than starving in the wilderness. So God then made it RAIN MANNA!!!! They were given so much bread that they were told not to eat or store up leftovers because the next day he would give them more!!! They still stored up leftovers, and that next morning the leftovers had maggots in it because they were told not to save it!!! I wont go into the whole story, but eventually these same folks began building idols and worshiping other Gods.

Now think about what God did for the Hebrews, HIS people who were raised in him, created by him, and were given promises of life and blessings at a time when NO ONE else was. Now think about what most of those same people did for him. They were faithless, and although God had revealed himself to them, they remained faithless, they doubted him, and betrayed him at most given chances. Now that was obviously not ALL Hebrews, but that is what happened with many. Now imagine how much more faithless and doubtful this generation would be. God has revealed himself many times and people don’t even see him when he does!!!! If God were to show himself and come upon the earth and rescue and save everyone, even those who would be faithless and doubtful and cruel given the chance would be sitting in heaven doing what they please, when they please! Now where is the justice in that. Do you not punish your children when they hit you, hurt you, and scorn you? Do you not put them in time out if they were to hit or bite another child? Well why would God allow people to continue to live on richly after death with no repercussion for their actions? Especially after he has made his promise of salvation open to ANYONE who CHOOSES to come to him!!!!!!!!!

Ecclesiastes 12:14

For God will bring every deed into judgment, with every secret thing, whether good or evil.

So here is what I am getting at: God will reveal himself to you if you CHOOSE to believe in him and have faith in him. He loves you no matter what, and to see the lost sheep running around and disobeying his every command causes him to weep, but for those of us who will CHOOSE to obey him, our lives are blessed by him, as are our souls after death. We will be with him forever, and it really is that easy. You love him, and you obey him. Just as you listen to your parents because you love them!!!! It REALLY IS THAT SIMPLE!!!! Don’t expect anything good to happen to you if you refuse to love our God unconditionally even when bad things happen to you…..  Blessings always come after a storm

James 1:12

Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.

My prayer for you today is that you will understand that Gods love is unconditional, but you can only be SAVED if you love him too. I pray that you do not forget that to love God, and be saved, that no one can get to him except through his son, and our ‘brother’ Christ. I pray that we will all want to follow him and be “Christ-like” in all of our actions. I pray you will have a faith to stand the test of time and that you will love and obey our living GOD with your whole heart, whole mind, and your whole soul. I pray that because of this you will receive blessings that pour out in great measure. I pray that God will justly reward you for your great faith and love for him. In Jesus Christ’s mighty name, AMEN.

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity

God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity: Romans 1:18-32

I may offend you, but I love you none the less. We are to be honest with eachother as brothers and sisters in christ so bear with me as I break down a very very important chapter in Romans.

18 The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19 since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20 For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.

  • Everyone around us, in and out of the church have been supressing truth by wickedness. It is all around! We have been manipulating the bible and its words to mean what we want it to mean, to help us believe what we want to believe and feel good about it. Those who do not call themselves christians, and even some who do will excuse foolishness and impurity by telling us not to judge them, by saying it is none of our buisness. ITS MY LIFE is the worst excuse I have ever seen. I know people personally who have every reason to love, adore, and believe in God, yet they slander him, disobey him, live their lives in sin and glorify it at every turn. Some do this and all the while they call themselves christians. God knows our hearts and he knows what we have put before him. He knows the things we think and the things we say in our drunkenness late into the night.

21 For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22 Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23 and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles.

  • I know those who loved God before, they had every reason to. He had shown his love to them numerous times, saving them, answering their prayers, and keeping them from harm. When push came to shove, he received no glory, no love, no offering. When they were all caught up in life and the happiness they had, they slowly began to believe that this life was theirs, that they accomplished all of it through works, in and of themselves. I was like this once before too. Then they begin to shift focus, and though it may not seem like people today are making graven images, is following a celebrities every move instead of following Gods word not “making graven images”? We have more pictures of ourselves and our children in our homes than we have memorized verses of Gods word. We read “”in touch weekly” and follow our favorite TV series and know it better than we do the next fulfilled prophecy that we were told by GOD himself to watch for. We have thanked our superiors at work, the people who distribute processed food, and our waitresses at the restaurant more than we have thanked our lord and savior, and when “we” do, it is usually a mockery!

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

  • Am I wrong when I say sex is GLORIFIED in today’s world? You cannot walk through a school yard without seeing at least one YOUNG girl dressed up in the least modest clothes available. Children, yes CHILDREN, like 9-12 are having as much sex as adults. At every mall and on almost every billboard we have engraved images of half naked women and shirtless men for sex appeal. Sex appeal has been everything in this nation. It has made young girls ashamed of who they are and what they look like, it has created a false understanding for boys on how to see women! I would even go as far to say that it has a lot to do with the increased rate of rape and sexual assault in this country and others. Sick people will always do sick things, but those sick things are being made “common place” and even accepted in some places.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

  • Threesomes, orgies, having sex with men and women alike, sodomy, open marriages, are these things not accepted? Now here is the most controversial of them all in today world: Homosexuality! Now I am personally close with many homosexual men. Some who no longer allow themselves to live in sin and giving their lives and bodies to God instead. Now I am not here to argue whether or not people who are Gay can help it, I am here to say that men who commit shameful acts with other men have indeed received in themselves penalty for their error. It is inside them, it is a fight, a battle unlike anything a person who is not tempted in that way can understand. I understand this as the reason that a mans life cannot be a normal one if he is born feeling that attraction. I know that it is in their hearts, and God will deal with what is there. However, the bible states clearly that the ACT of having sexual relations with someone of the same sex is against his law, so again, that is between them and God, I will not persecute, but I will not condone.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

  • Furthermore, they all no longer feel guilt for what they are doing. The guilt is gone because they have pushed the holy spirit so far away in their sin that they are beyond his whispers. There is still hope, but only when they repent and allow the holy spirit to move in themselves once more. Look at the verse above, and tell me you do not know at least ONE person who lives in sin in these ways? It is all around us! We are close to the end and their stubbornness will be their poison. I urge you, no BEG YOU all who read this to repent, to lead others to God and to repentance, if you love them, and you should, you need to help save them. We are given too much power in Christ for us to waste it by keeping it to ourselves. What are we if not VESSELS of the living God? How are we doing anything for God if we live in shame for being who we are? We are not to shy away from this immorality as if it has over taken the world and there is no help against it… we are to FIGHT it with everything we have!!!! Don’t let go, turn the word of God lose and shamelessly help bring these lost sheep back to God. We are in a day and age where this sin has become so common place that our children will not know better. It is up to us to change that. Don’t give up, don’t quit trying because I love every one of you, and every one of them and I will not stop until I have helped put as many names in the lambs book of life as I can. I will not wait around and let persecution and hatred stop me. Satan has no hold on me and I will pray intensely that if he has a hold on you that it will be broken in JESUS NAME!!! I might not know you, but I love you. I may not see your heart, but I know that I want it to belong to God. Only with your heart where it needs to be can you feel the full pull and strength of Gods love, mercy, and kindness.

There is hope, a hope only made possible by Jesus Christ who was sent by our living GOD to save our souls from the pain of eternal damnation. GOD WOULD NOT SEE ONE, ONE!!! OF US DIE!!!! It is we who do that to ourselves. He has given us hope after hope, chance after chance, and he HAS revealed himself, and will again. Do not fool yourselves, do yourselves a favor and fall into his arms now, don’t fight it any longer. He loves us, and is storing up our treasures in heaven for the good we do in his name as we speak. What do you have to lose if you choose to follow God is not the question, its what do you Gain if you follow God, and what you lose if you continue to live in sin and not to speak out to those around you who are living in sin. its very simple, what you need to do is pick up your bible, pick up your heart and get on your knees. Repent of your sin and turn from that path. Ask for Jesus to come into your heart and soul and cleanse you from yourself. “Self” is the holy spirits enemy. You cannot love God and live for “self”.  I urge you to eliminate your selfish desires, your worldly understanding, and follow him, love him, trust him, and ALL ELSE will fall into place. you will live a life of meaning and happiness unlike anything you have ever experienced. I promise you, Just let. GO.

My prayer for you today is that you will be able to let go, to give your all and all to christ. he is the way, the truth and the light and your only way into heaven. I pray you will run from sin and the hold it has on you, I pray for those around you, that they may see your changed soul and they may follow suit and join you in heaven as well. I pray that this message will not pass you by, that it will consume your thoughts so when you see these things you will know to fight them, to run from temptation and fight for all that is GOOD! I pray that this country will repent and abandon its sin and doubt and allow God to return this country to its former glory. I pray you will live out your life with the peace and love of Jesus Christ coursing through you; making you feel the love I want you all to feel and understand. In Jesus mighty name, AMEN.

Again, I love you. I do not condemn you, I LOVE YOU. Just as JESUS LOVES YOU AND GAVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU!!! Never forget that.

Are you a sheep or a Goat?

Are we saved through works? NO! We are saved by grace so that NONE may boast!!! Does that mean that once we are saved we just get a free ride through life? HECK NO!!!! Ponder this story from the bible:

Matthew 25:31-46

The Sheep and the Goats

31 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his glorious throne. 32 All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. 33 He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34 “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. 35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’

37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’

40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

41 “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. 42 For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink, 43 I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.’

44 “They also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or needing clothes or sick or in prison, and did not help you?’

45 “He will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.’

46 “Then they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life.”

This wont be a very long post because this parable says it all!!!!! Would you rather be a sheep or a goat? I know what I would want to be….. Remember, even the smallest act of kindness makes you exalted in Gods eyes. The more you do for the least of these, the more you do for him. He also sees your heart though… so do not give for selfish gain, or hold back because you would rather keep your money for the finer things….. God knows what, when, and why you do what you do,….

When I stand before the lord at the gates of heaven, I hope that he will say “well done”.

John 13:34-35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

God says to love one another as he loved us. He loved us by sacrificing his only son! What are YOU holding back that is TOO important to give to God? What are you keeping from him? He keeps nothing from those who love him, so how are we to love him if we are not willing to give up EVERYTHING for him, and everyone else on this earth.

Remember, in the great scheme of things, this life holds NOTHING for us of great value…. this society worships paper money and contracts more than it does the everlasting God who created each and every one of us. So just think about that….. What are you holding back? Why wait any longer? Is it worth it?

Galatians 5:22-23

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

A Godly Wife: Submission?! REALLY?!

1 Corinthians 11:3

But I want you to understand that the head of every man is Christ, the head of a wife is her husband, and the head of Christ is God.

I began my post with that verse because it is often misinterpreted as meaning that the wife is lowly and subject to her husband. When we think of “submission” in todays world, women all around the world flip out as if it were a curse word.  Its as if the word “submission” has been modernly defined as “abuse”.

This is really not the case. I am all for a STRONG, POWERFUL woman!!!! I also believe that once married, the strength of a woman is defined by how well she cares for her family and leads her family through Godly example. In a good, strong marriage, the husband would take control of his roles. He will lead his family through spiritual warfare, he will comfort them in trouble, and will be the primary example to the entire family in their walk with God. The husband will be respectful and understanding of his wife, and will ALSO SUBMIT to her!!!! (That part is often left out when men make the point for submission)

1 Peter 3:7

7 Husbands, likewise, submit by living with your wife in ways that honor her, knowing that she is the weaker partner. Honor her all the more, as she is also a coheir of the gracious care of life. Do this so that your prayers won’t be hindered.

Even that verse would be enough to anger today’s feminists…. but lets be HONEST LADIES!!!! Unless we are Giant  and shooting up testosterone and steroids, or if we married a man who is really truly minuscule, we ARE the weaker partner. Unless you have a heart of stone, we are also emotionally and psychologically weaker as well! Not to mention once a month we get a dose of hormones that get us unraveled in all sorts of ways. Now there are exceptions to every case, so I cannot speak for everyone, but generally, the wife really is weaker than a man. We are also stronger than men in many aspects, but that is not what this verse is getting at. When it says “weaker” it makes sense to me in a way that does not insult me. I take it to mean what we already know: many men emotionally break us down. They have no respect or understanding that they just cannot say and do the things that they do!!! Women are angry at men today because they treat us with GREAT disrespect. They use “weak” in a different sense, as if it makes us inferior to them. Honestly ladies, what I’m getting at is this: Women are unique creatures made by God to complete a man. We are our husbands other halves. We are stronger in some ways, and weaker in others. It is like they say “opposites attract”. We have roles made for us and we have to be happy to fulfill them, and we must be encouraging and understanding of each others weakness with respect and love.

1 Corinthians 11:8-9

For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man.

Here it shows that we were made for men. Honestly, the way I see it, is that this gives us the advantage! God created us to be companions for men. We are to be their better half, their help, their ROCK!!! Likewise, we were made for man, and so he must honor and respect Gods good gift to him. He must lead his family through life and treat them with LOVE and respect, just as Jesus did for his bride, the church.

So what really makes a submissive wife you may ask? It means to give your husband the role of “leader” and encourage him in it. Now there is a fine line between this and becoming a doormat. As we are human, we see things in black and white, and often times its hard for men to understand how this works unless they are truly men of God.  Now if your husband says “go get me a beer woman” and you cower as he stares you down, that is when you may want to start standing up for yourself, but if your husband asks you not to go shopping every weekend and spend hundreds of dollars and you say “YOU CANT CONTROL ME!!!!” you need to take a good look at yourself because you are not in a marriage, you are doing something entirely different.

Now when I came into my own marriage I had a few “daddy issues” so to speak. I was abused as a child, in different ways, and I did NOT want a MAN telling me what to do!!!! I made it perfectly clear that I was going to do what I wanted and he had no say in anything. I had a separate bank account, my own job, separate friends, my own life outside the marriage, which isn’t always a bad thing, but this was to an extreme!!! I wasn’t just “separate” from my marriage, I wasn’t even IN a marriage! I would go out at night and leave my husband alone almost every night. He would speak out sometimes against me doing my thing and I would fly off the handle entirely because I did NOT want to be tied down.

One night I made quite a few mistakes that led me to searching myself, the bible, and God for what it meant to be married, what it meant to have a husband and be a wife. That was the best thing I have ever done. It was extremely difficult to change myself, and to live with my changes even though my husband was unsaved at the time and making it very very hard to be the “submissive” wife I wanted to be. He did not understand what It meant to lead, and not CONTROL. It was all about control. To both of us, for a very long time. For years. I did not give up though. I was saved and I refused to give that up. I became the leader in my submission. I became the head of household for a time because I was holding on to the holy spirit. Now this might confuse you, because I wasn’t perfect either. I had a lot of work being done on me by God. God had been slowly changing ALL of me. Molding and shifting my very personality! I was more and more submissive, and strong as the days went by. Slowly I had to learn to relinquish control, to my husband also, but mostly to God. That is the true meaning of submission in my life, I SUBMIT IT ALL TO THE LORD. It took a while but eventually my husband caught on to what was happening within me. He has his own story that I hope one day he will come on here and tell, but he began to allow the lord to work in him as well! Pretty soon “submission” wasn’t that difficult for either of us anymore. We took our roles that God gave us and we learned to respect those, and each others. It took time, and quite a few clashes, but GOD did all the work.

1 Peter 3

Wives, likewise, submit to your own husbands. Do this so that even if some of them refuse to believe the word, they may be won without a word by their wives’ way of life. 2 After all, they will have observed the reverent and holy manner of your lives. 3 Don’t try to make yourselves beautiful on the outside, with stylish hair or by wearing gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Instead, make yourselves beautiful on the inside, in your hearts, with the enduring quality of a gentle, peaceful spirit. This type of beauty is very precious in God’s eyes. 5 For it was in this way that holy women who trusted in God used to make themselves beautiful, accepting the authority of their own husbands. 6 For example, Sarah accepted Abraham’s authority when she called him master. You have become her children when you do good and don’t respond to threats with fear.

With all that said, I think my point is pretty clear: GOD needs to be front and center in your life, your husbands life, and your marriage. If he is not, then its going to be pretty difficult for you in the long run. I can tell you all from experience that it is wonderful to have such a harmonious and respectful marriage. Now I’m not saying things are PERFECT, we are all human and we all make mistakes, but it is how you turn those mistakes around that matter. My husband and I have not gone to bed angry in over a year and I know that it has been because of God. When you give your life to God, give your marriage to him to, and watch while he works wonders in your life, your husbands life, and at the very heart of your family!

My prayer for you today is that you will allow God to take over your life, over your marriage, and teach you the REAL meaning of submission. I pray that you will not pass this message by without allowing the holy spirit to touch you in your heart. Your life and your marriage is too important and I pray that you will give it gladly to him. I pray that you will be given peace during trials, and hope during your times of doubt. I pray that the lord will walk with you wherever you are and wherever you go, so that you will always know his love and kindness. I pray you will pick up the sword of truth and never let it go because in it, is Gods truth, and help to get you through any problem and trial. In Jesus name I pray, amen.

Proverbs 31:26-31

She opens her mouth with wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue. She looks well to the ways of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceitful, and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised. …

These thoughts are not my own!

Do you ever struggle with thoughts that pop into your head? Whether they be good or bad, you really didnt intend on, or try to, think about them? Ive had this happen with people, events, and thoughts of action.
I am diagnosed bipolar. I may be unmedicated and stable, but I still struggle with the occasional thought that threatens to take me over entirely. What do I do with these thoughts?

Now when I say CANNOT CONTROL them, I mean that I cannot at all stop myself from thinking them. They are like someone talking to me, only it is inside my head. They don’t go away very fast, even if I am repulsed by my thought and I try to make it go away. There have been times that I have thought I was going to lose my mind because I couldn’t understand myself and why my mind is doing what it is doing. It felt like there were little voices swimming around in my head telling me to do something I would never in a million years do.

Now invading thoughts happens to even the most disciplined and loyal of gods children. So what do you do with them?

Mark 7:20-22

And he said, “What comes out of a person is what defiles him. For from within, out of the heart of man, come evil thoughts, sexual immorality, theft, murder, adultery, coveting, wickedness, deceit, sensuality, envy, slander, pride, foolishness.

Well here’s a short story for you. I have been suffering pretty badly lately with these uncontrollable thoughts. I’m not on the verge of breaking, but my head is hurting and fighting them off with the word is enough, until ten seconds later a new thought comes along and threatens my sanity. Its hard though, because sometimes I get thoughts that are not my own and they are from God, but often, they are from Satan. Last night, my husband and I were watching the Wednesday night sermon on live streaming, and my pastor was praying and said something like this: “I know there are those of you who are having thoughts you cannot control, there are those whose thoughts feel like little voices in your head pulling you every which way. God wants you to know that these thoughts are not from him.”
Now this wasn’t an exact quote, I did the best I could from memory, but I just about cried my eyes out when I heard that… I knew in my heart he was talking directly to me even if he didn’t know it. Hearing that made me realize that I needed to write this post. I know there are so many others out there feeling lost, scared, or like you are a terrible person because of how you cannot control those thoughts. Just remember, those thoughts are NOT your own, they are NOT from God, they were created by Satan to put fear in your heart and confusion in your mind. I have been down that road, there was a time where I listened to every thought in my head. Whether it be to go out at night, or in the end of those days, to kill myself. That was the weakness i had without God. I had no power over my thoughts and feelings. God himself, through reading his word and waiting in prayer, has given me the grace and strength to battle those thoughts, urges, and feelings. I’ve battled them off enough to where certain ones don’t come back. The only thing that allowed me to do this was knowing Gods word, and knowing that in my weakness, he is made strong. He will not allow those thoughts to overcome me as long as I bring them to him in faith that he will help me through this internal battle.

Colossians 3:5-10

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. On account of these the wrath of God is coming. In these you too once walked, when you were living in them. But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth. Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old self with its practices …

These battles are never finished, not until we are dead anyways… there will always be thoughts in our head until then, some from us, some from God, and some from Satan. So what do YOU do with your thoughts?

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.

My prayer for you today is that you will not allow your thoughts to control you. I pray that when you have a thought against your will, that you will take it to the lord so he can cast it away from you. I pray you will arm yourself with the sword, the word of God, because there is a battle going on right now for your heart and your mind. God will always win, so I pray you will surrender to him now. I pray that God will be your strength and your stability when you feel weak and unsure. I pray this all in Jesus name, amen.

Doubt your doubts before you doubt your faith.

doubt
noun
 1.
  1. a feeling of uncertainty or lack of conviction.

We are human, and we all have doubts. Doubts are normal, they pop up unexpectedly in our heads about everything, and everyone. I’m sure we have all doubted someone before who we would never doubt now, because that is just how things are in this world.

What do you do with these doubts? Do you push them aside? Or do you take them and run? What is the limit to your doubts?

Well in my heart, there has developed something beyond the understanding of many, and that is faith.

faith
noun
  1. 1.
complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
“this restores one’s faith in politicians”
  2. 2.
strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.
Can you have doubts about God and your faith, and still HAVE faith?
We were given free will, and everything that comes with that. We have emotions, and the ability to think and discover things for ourselves. We are encouraged by God to examine things, so doubt, in and of itself, is a good and useful tool.

Even God wants us to doubt things in this life:

1 Thessalonians 5:21

21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good;

However, everything we stand for can be called into question by ONE doubt: the doubt that what we live for, who we fight for, and what we believe in is true. Can we be a person of Great faith that can move mountains and part seas if we doubt for one second that God is God?

Hebrews 11:1-40

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible. By faith Abel offered to God a more acceptable sacrifice than Cain, through which he was commended as righteous, God commending him by accepting his gifts. And through his faith, though he died, he still speaks. By faith Enoch was taken up so that he should not see death, and he was not found, because God had taken him. Now before he was taken he was commended as having pleased God. …

If we doubt, how can we gain in FULL MEASURE the blessings that will pour down on us from God if we are obedient and faithful? Our God is faithful to us, and he will bless us, if we are obedient and HAVE FAITH!!!!

James 1:5-8

If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For that person must not suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

I love that: the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea. How can you expect God to be faithful to you when you are rocking back and forth indecisively about whether or not he will be?

If you were a parent, would you not want your children to believe that if they ask you for food for dinner, that you will give it to them? Would you want your child to sit there in doubt for days about whether or not you love them, if you will give it to them? No, your children ask and receive with full faith that you will provide their needs, because you are the parents, and they are the children.

One last thought. Our God is all powerful, all knowing, all seeing, and very faithful to those who are faithful to him. WHY DO YOU DOUBT? If you are saved in the first place, then something must have happened to lead you there. He must have been revealed to you in some way, so you know he is there, so why do you doubt?

Mark 11:22-25

And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”

My prayer for you all today is that you will experience faith in its full measure. That you will have your doubts, but will never once doubt the power and faithfulness of our almighty creator. I pray that you will receive blessings amounting to your faith and that you will never stray for one moment from it. I pray that all will go well with you all the days of your life, and you will pass on your faith and wisdom to generations after you. God bless you all abundantly. In Jesus’s holy name, amen!

Many talents

There is something wonderful I have noticed, as did everyone else at some point I’m sure, about the body of Christ! Whether it be in romantic relationships, friendships, or a collective group of fellow worshipers, everyone has something profoundly DIFFERENT to contribute!
Our God amazes me. First he creates us all physically different and unique, even being a twin is very unique in and of its self, then he goes and creates our emotions, our talents, and our passions; things we loved before we even knew we could.
My church, for example, is a huge collection with people of all shapes, sizes, and talents! We have singers, dancers, teachers, writers, bankers, you name it, we probably have someone with the talent!!!! It isn’t just MY church either! I have been to many churches and I have found the same thing to be true for the majority. I love how undivided the TRUE body of Christ really is. Not only are there so many of us that though we are united as a whole we need to be split up per area because there is too many people. God has arranged this with his people. He has put people of different talents and ideals in each and every church.
God has even done this in marriages! My marriage is a wonderful example of this! My husband and I are polar opposites in almost every way possible. Hes a introvert, I am an extrovert. He loves computers, phones and technology, I love music, the arts, reading, cooking, gardening and writing. Im right brained, hes left. He says up, I say down! Its always like that, and always has been like that. Now, it took a lot of getting used to at first, because when you have such different people living with each other if takes work, but we have a rhythm going now!!! I know now that God has placed me and Branden together for a very specific reason! Balance! If there’s something he cant do very well, I usually can, and vice-versa! We also rub off on each other and mellow each other out in areas that were extreme. I love seeing the perfect design in this. God has planned all of this out and it makes me love him even more. Even through Branden, I received a wonderful family of all different talents! We often need to use our brothers mechanic skills, our mom is crafty and creative, my sister in law and wonderful friend is an outspoken and multi-talented mom of 3 and she blows me away with the way she holds it all together.
See where I’m going with this?

1 Peter 4:10-11

As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace: whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.

Romans 12:6-8

Having gifts that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to our faith; if service, in our serving; the one who teaches, in his teaching; the one who exhorts, in his exhortation; the one who contributes, in generosity; the one who leads, with zeal; the one who does acts of mercy, with cheerfulness.

It all just goes to show that God is always working to make things come together as a whole. He wants us to be happy, and he wants us to be productive. What better way to accomplish both than to give us a purpose to do something we love!!!

My prayer for you today is that you will be happy with who you are and embrace your unique and wonderful talents for what they are. I pray that you will use your gifts to the glory of God always, and that nothing will be held back. In Jesus’s name, amen.

Colossians 3:23-25 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

Where you cannot provide….

Because I’m too sick to write a new one today:

The Word Against The World

God can!

This week has been rather difficult in our household. My husband had to leave his company because they weren’t making the money needed to pay their employees, so rather than sticking around, my husband made the smart move and went to find another job. He has one now, but can’t start until Monday. All the while waiting, I have noticed his fears and his worries playing out in the midst of all of this craziness. In addition to that, we are having a huge yard sale this weekend! My husband has been working his tail off trying to find computers to fix for friends and family and other odd jobs to get us through the week. He’s been making himself crazy, and it has begun to wear on the rest of us.

We were in a little tiff yesterday that pretty much blew out of proportion for two…

Down time!

So I have to apologize for the downtime. When I started this blog I resolved to have new content daily, but I have a cold today and no inspiration whatsoever. I will continue to pray about it and see what God can do about it because when I am weak, he is strong. So who knows, I could be following this post up quickly with a good one! So I just wanted to let you all know that I will be praying for you and I hope I will get something in my cloudy, cold filled head. Our immune systems rock though, so I should be up and running full force by tomorrow!!!! Nothing is too big for our God
